The Diocese of Richmond’s Office for Black Catholics will host its post-Congress XII evangelization conference, “Our Faith in Action,” Saturday, July 21, at the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Norfolk.

The event is a follow-up to the 12th National Black Catholic Congress gathering held last June in Orlando. Congress XII gathered close to 2,000 African American Catholics committed to the mission of evangelization, individually and in community. Workshop topics included spirituality, black Catholic history, racism, marriage and family life, prison ministry, vocations, youth and young adult.

“Our Faith in Action” is an invitation to reinforce one’s commitment to the Catholic faith; to grow in that faith and to share it with others. Participants will be encouraged to reflect upon the rich diversity of the vibrant Church in Richmond. Content of workshops will be such that participants will be able to use what they learn in their respective parishes and communities. Bishop Martin D. Holley, bishop of the Diocese of Memphis, will be a keynote speaker and the principal celebrant for Mass. A full listing of presenters and workshops will be made available shortly. Online registration is open at www.regonline.com/cdrobcec18.
