The U.S. Army Chorus will perform at a concert Saturday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Rd., Richmond. It is free and open to the public.

“Is the Pill medically necessary? An Introduction to NaPro Technology” will be the agenda of a meeting on Sunday, February 5, from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. as part of the Theology and Donuts series at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 401 Alderman Road, Charlottesville. Presenters Karen Poehailos, MD, Diocesan NFP Coordinator, and Kirsten Hansen, MD, UVa Family Medicine Resident, will explain how fertility cycle charting and timed blood work can help with diagnosis and treatment of women’s health issues like PMS and infertility without use of the Pill or IVF.

St. Gertrude benefit

Saint Gertrude High School in Richmond will sponsor the Bourbon on the James Annual Auction on Friday, February 10, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Willow Oaks Country Club featuring live music by Three Sheets to the Wind.

There will heavy hors d’oeuvres and open bar plus a silent and live auction. Tickets are $80 per person and for alumnae in the class years of 1997-2008, tickets are $60 per person.

Boys Choir concert

The Boys Choir of Hampton Roads will be featured at a concert on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 6400 Newport Ave., Norfolk. The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in the Social Hall.

Mardi Gras gala

The St. Vincent de Paul Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary of St. Vincent De Paul Parish in Newport News will hold its annual Mardi Gras on Saturday, Feb 18, from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 12742 Nettles Drive, Newport News, VA. There will be a DJ playing the latest music hits, hors d’oeuvres, costumes (optional), and prizes.

Proceeds from the adults only event will benefit the parish youth scholarship fund. Tickets are $20 a person.
