Many people who are concerned about the growing push for abortion rights and acceptance of pro-choice legislation often ask “what can I do?” Well, here is something people can do.
A strong pro-life presence is needed on Friday, September 14 when the Virginia State Board of Health plans to reconvene in Richmond to vote again on proposed permanent abortion center safety standards.
The Virginia Catholic Conference has an important message and needs your help.
Please come to this crucial hearing and bring your pro-life friends with you. It is imperative to show the Board of Health, the media, and elected officials how widespread support is for commonsense safety standards.
Groups opposing strong safety standards filled the room at the last hearing and will do so again unless those who support the strongest possible regulations show up in much greater numbers than before.
Seating is limited, and our opponents are telling their members to show up at the hearing room at 7:30 a.m. Please add Friday, September 14 to your calendar now. Plan to arrive at the Perimeter Center (9960 Mayland Drive, Richmond, in the West End) at 7:30.
Be prepared to spend much of the day, if necessary. The meeting is scheduled to adjourn at 3 p.m., but depending on when the vote is held, this may become a day-long event.
Parishes with pro-life committees and just plain concerned citizens are needed to make their voices heard. We can count on strong opposition, but with a strong pro-life presence there is hope.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to stand in support of life. Together, we look forward to the coming day when Virginia will have permanent health and safety standards for the abortion industry for the first time in more than two decades.
