Irish Festival

St. Patrick Catholic Church in Richmond will hold the 27th Annual Irish Festival on Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 to 6 on Sunday. The festival begins on Saturday with the St. Patrick’s Parade and continues with a 4-block street fair in front of St. Patrick’s Church on North 25th Street between Broad and Franklin Streets on Historic Church Hill. More than 45 traditional Irish musicians, local bands, dancers, and bagpipers will perform on two stages throughout the weekend. A $2 donation will be requested at the gate.

Proceeds will benefit St. Baldrick’s Society, St. Francis Home, Little Sisters of the Poor, Church Hill Crime Watch, Child Saver’s Clinic of Richmond, St. Peter’s Meals Program, The Conrad Center, Stone Circle of Friends, Cullather Brain Tumor Quality of Life Center at Bon Secours, St. John’s Church, Prevent Blindness Virginia and St. Patrick’s Church.

Lenten Mission

St. Gregory the Great Parish in Virginia Beach will host a Lenten Mission from March 26 to 29. Father Simeon Gallagher, OFMCap, will be the Mission Leader, giving a morning presentation after the 8:30 Mass and presiding at a prayer service and presentation each evening at 7. The theme for the Mission is “Healing Hearts and Homes: Reclaiming Virtues.”

Our Lady of Lourdes

Bereavement Ministry will host an “End of Life” workshop on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Church 8200 Woodman Road, Richmond, Virginia 23228. There will be people there from the clergy, hospice agency and parish nurses to answer questions. For more information and reservations, please contact Paula Braun at pbraun715 @gmail.

The Interfaith Council of Greater Richmond March Meeting “Festival of Faiths” will be held Thursday, March 29, at 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Seventh Street Christian Church, 4101 Grove Ave., in the Fellowship Hall.

Members of different Faiths are asked to share history and culture of their religion with a display of literature, food or entertainment.
