Campus Minister Pastoral Associate
The Diocese of Richmond seeks a Campus Ministry Pastoral Associate to serve the 4-parish cluster in southwest Virginia (Saint Anthony, Sacred Heart, Saint Joseph, and Holy Spirit Catholic Community). The individual will also serve the Catholic community at UVA-Wise. This position assists the Diocese and pastor with the pastoral care of the parish communities with a specific focus on outreach to the college community, religious education programs, young adult ministry, and coordination of volunteer ministries. This position is full-time. Master’s degree preferred. Candidates must be a Catholic in good standing who has a commitment to the advancement of ministry with college students and young adults, and possess strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills. Prior experience in campus ministry is preferred. Church of St. Thérèse, Chesapeake is seeking a Minister of Music. Excellent pianist skills required. Vocal abilities preferred. Position works closely with priest in choosing upbeat contemporary Catholic music, coordinating parish musical needs, and providing direction and training for choir, cantors, and instrumentalists. Position is full-time (approximately 30-35 hours). 3-5 years experience preferred. Salary is commensurate with Diocesan Guidelines. We anticipate that the position will be available June 4, 2012. The Catholic Diocese of Richmond is seeking recent college graduates to serve in our new campus ministry intern program starting in the 2012-2013 academic year. Interns serve full-time with a campus minister at one of the 68 college campuses in our diocese for one or two years.
Benefits include a modest stipend and opportunity to pursue a masters degree in pastoral ministry or theology from a top Catholic university at no cost.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree. The candidate must be an active, practicing Catholic (ordained, religious or lay) in good standing who has a commitment to the advancement of ministry with college students and young adults, be open to work with ministry leaders of other faith traditions, and possess strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
