Pax Christi session
The Bishop Walter Sullivan Pax Christi Community will have an afternoon of reflection and formation on Sunday, Feb. 14, on “Gospel Nonviolence and Peacemaking” presented by Msgr. William Pitt at 11 a.m., followed by a potluck lunch. It will be held in the home of Tim and Renee McCarthy, 3845 Prince Philip Circle, Virginia Beach. Health Fair
Epiphany Catholic Church, 11000 Smoketree Drive, Richmond, will hold a Health Fair on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Over 20 vendors will participate with information for all ages on physical and mental health.

Catholic Charities Gala
Catholic Charities will honor Jacqueline and Frederick J. Napolitano, Sr., members of Star of the Sea Parish, who have been named the recipients of the 2010 Bishop’s Humanitarian Award for their service and charitable works in Hampton Roads at a Gala. The event will be held at the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel on Saturday, Feb. 27. Invitations have been sent out. Catholic thought on Gender
On Thursday, February 11 at 5 p.m. in Minor Hall at the University of Virginia, the St. Anselm Institute for Catholic Thought will host University of St. Thomas Law Professor Elizabeth Schiltz’s public lecture on “Taking Complementarity Seriously: A Catholic Approach to Gender Differences, Feminism, and Public Policy.” She will speak a day earlier on the same topic on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. at Virginia Commonwealth University in Room 151 of the Life Sciences Building at the corner of West Cary and Harrison Streets.

Feminine Spirituality
The Council of Catholic Women of St. John Neumann Parish in Powhatan is sponsoring a Ladies’ Day of Recollection on Saturday, March 6. The speaker is Barbara Hughes, regularly featured columnist of The Catholic Virginian, on the theme “Feminine Spirituality: Learning from the wisdom of holy women, ancient and contemporary.” The day begins with Rosary at 8:30, Mass at 9 a.m. Registration is at 10 a.m. A donation of $15 is requested. Spiritual Direction Institute
An information meeting on the Spiritual Direction Institute will be held at The Well Retreat Center near Smithfield on Sunday, March 7, at 2 p.m. at The Well Retreat Center. This is a two-year course, meeting the first Saturday of each month, for two years. There will be no classes during summer months. Those interested can call 757-255-2366 or email staff@thewellretreatcenter.org.

Bereaved support group
A nine-week support group for widowed men and women will begin in early March. It will be held on 10 Tuesday evenings at Bon Air United Methodist Church, 1645 Buford Road, Richmond. Space is limited, and those who are interested should contact the facilitator, Dr. Elaine Nowinski, by February 23. There is a registration cost of $25 to cover books and materials.
