Clergy changes
Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo has announced the following clergy changes, effective immediately:

Rev. Msgr. Walter C. Barrett is pastor of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Parish in Caroline County. He continues to serve as the pastor of Holy Rosary Parish in Richmond.

Rev. Christian Haydinger, who previously had been pastor of the Caroline County parish, continues as pastor of Saint Ann Parish in Ashland.

Rev. Francois G. Babulu, from parochial vicar of St. John Parish, Highland Springs, to parochial vicar of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Parish in Caroline County.

Rev. Mr. Frank Baskind is assigned as permanent deacon to St. Michael Parish in Glen Allen. This is in addition to his assignment as specialist deacon for diaconate formation.

Seminarians gather at Sandbridge
The diocese’s 16 seminarians, including three transitional deacons who will be ordained to the priesthood in 2010, gather with Father Michael Renninger, director of Vocations, center of front row, during the recent annual summer gathering in Sandbridge. With them are Fathers James Curran and Gregory Kandt who presented talks on priestly formation.

Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo stands with Bishop Arturo Bastes of the Diocese of Sorsogon in the Philippines during his visit to the Diocesan Pastoral Center Aug. 4. The other priests on loan from Sorsogon are, from left, Father Jeffrey Garcia, pastor of St. John Neumann, Powhatan, and Good Shepherd, Amelia; Father Henry Diesta and Father Edgar Cloefe, both of whom will soon have assignments in the diocese, and Father Burt Sare, administrator of St. Francis of Assisi, Staunton.
