Concert at Cathedral to feature wedding music

A Concert of Music for Weddings and Other Festive Occasions will be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m.

Performers will include Deborah Lynch, cantor and vocal soloist; Dr. Michael Davison, head of the trumpet and jazz programs at the University of Richmond, and Patrick Carlin, minister of music at the Cathedral.

The program will feature selections from Henry Purcell, Johann Pachelbel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Schubert and George Frideric Handel.

In keeping with the tradition of cathedrals throughout the ages, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart actively promotes and engages in the arts and social outreach for the Catholic Diocese of Richmond.

Its Music Ministry and its programs seek to respect the diversity already present in the local community by programming inclusive, eclectic repertoire and by engaging performing artists from a wide spectrum of musical styles.

Free will offerings will be greatly appreciated.
