Pastoral planning final draft to be topic at Vicariate meetings
The Diocesan Pastoral Planning Commission will present the final draft for the proposed five-year plan for parish ministry at three upcoming Vicariate meetings.
The plan features the submitted recommendations from 19 local planning areas which address the projected clergy shortage in the diocese and encourage sharing of resources among parishes.
The Central Vicariate meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. at the Diocesan Pastoral Center in Richmond.
The Eastern Vicariate meeting will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, at St. Gregory the Great Church in Virginia Beach.
The Western Vicariate meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Blacksburg.
A letter of invitation will go out in early October to all pastors, parish staff, deacons and LPA representatives. Pastors are encouraged to invite parish council and finance council members to attend as well. The presentation will be similar to the Vicariate meetings held last Fall introducing the planning process but participants will not break into groups.
