Peninsula Catholic winners
Peninsula Catholic High School in Newport News has seven juniors who have been invited to participate in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program. With a Selection Index Score of 200 or above, each of these students is among the 50,000 highest–scoring participants of some 1.5 million program entrants. Because these high performers have shown outstanding academic potential, they have been invited to continue on in the program to be designated a Commended Student or National Merit Semifinalist in the Fall. The juniors, who are named in alphabetical order, are Zachary Antonioli, Kevin Boeh, Emily Davidson, Laura Fernandez, Kimberly Fiscella, Kylie Regan, and Matthew Waller.
