Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services

The Office of Catholic Schools seeks an exceptional educational leader in the area of curriculum design, research based instruction, professional development and accreditation. The successful candidate must have current research knowledge, a working understanding in all areas of responsibility, possess an understanding of Catholic school leadership, have exemplary communication and relational skills, and possess a minimum of a master’s degree in education, curriculum or education administration. Prior Catholic school leadership experience is preferred. Candidates must be Catholics in good standing. Salary is commensurate with experience. Closing date is May 21, 2008. Religious Education Program

Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Community, a parish of 400 families, in Tabb, is seeking a full time individual to plan, develop, lead and be fully responsible for Parish Religious Ed. programs involving Grades KN–5 and Middle School, grades 6 and 7. Responsibilities include Catechist recruiting, formation and support, Sacramental Preparation of Reconciliation and First Eucharist, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Rites of Christian Initiation for Children, (RCIC) and Vacation Bible School. Applicant must be Pathways certified and meet all Diocesan requirements for employment. Salary commensurate with education, experience and according to new diocesan compensation guidelines.

Associate Director

The Virginia Catholic Conference, the public-policy agency of the Catholic bishops serving Virginia’s two dioceses, is seeking applicants for the position of Associate Director. Responsibilities include meeting with lawmakers, testifying at public hearings, speaking at parish events, drafting alerts and articles, and enlarging the Conference’s existing grassroots network. Pastoral Musician

Director of  Religious Education

DRE for children’s faith formation in dynamic northern Virginia parish. Sign language interpreters

The Office for Persons with Disabilities is seeking qualified sign language interpreters. Recently, there have been many requests for interpreters from different regions in the Diocese. The Disabilities Office will be compiling a list of interpreters that can be given to churches requesting interpreters.

Religious Ed Director

Plans, develops and leads a comprehensive Baptismal prep and religious education program for grades K–8 in a collaborative manner and sets and implements catechetical vision, selects and evaluates curriculum, and serves as the parish resource person. Required: MA Divinity, MA in Theology, Religious Studies or related field, or BA/BS plus graduate level study. Three to five years experience as coordinator or leader and experience working with budgets preferred.

Youth Ministry Director

Directs a comprehensive YM program following ‘Renewing the Vision,’ including catechesis and Confirmation for grades 9–12 in a collaborative manner. Maintains an environment appropriate to legal and moral responsibility for minors, including Safe Environment Certification. Supports families to promote healthy adolescent development and faith growth. Required: MA in Theology, Religious Studies or related field or BA/BS plus graduate level study. Three to five years experience as coordinator or leader in Youth Ministry and experience working with budgets preferred.

Adult Faith Director

Directs, facilitates and conducts numerous adult faith activities and programs in the parish, including RCIA, Bede Lectures, Scriptural study, retreats, etc. in a collaborative manner. Serves as a direct contact, is a resource for small groups, and facilitates prepared educational programs. Required: MA in Theology, Religious Studies or related field or equivalent education. Three to five years experience in related recruitment, evaluation, and supervision is preferred. Budget experience preferred.

Development/Stewardship Coordinator

Coordinates and implements a comprehensive stewardship program for the parish including the education of stewardship of time, talent, and treasure with an emphasis on fundraising. Coordinates annual fundraising activities and special events. Required: BA/BS in related field or equivalent education and experience. Fundraising certification desired, along with one to three years experience in fundraising with proven success.
