Admissions director

Saint Gertrude High School is seeking an experienced professional to lead the school’s Admission Office. This person would oversee the planning and implementation of recruitment activities as well as manage applications and scholarships. The Director reports to the President and works with the Marketing and Recruitment Committees.

A master’s degree is preferable with the applicant having prior experience working with adolescent girls. Applicant must also have some knowledge of area schools, Catholic, public and private. The candidate should have the ability to execute a complete program of admission and marketing and exhibit excellent management and communication skills.

Head Varsity Basketball Coach

This position is responsible for directing a competitive Division 1 independent basketball program at St. Gertrude High School. Duties include in-season practice and game planning, off-season conditioning and planning and attending summer basketball camps. Coaching experience is required and teaching experience is preferred.

Bookkeeper/Administrative assistant

The Cluster Parishes of Portsmouth and Chesapeake seek a part-time bookkeeper or full time bookkeeper/administrative assistant. Strong computer skills, knowledge of PDS (Parish Data Systems) accounting software, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment are required. Teachers

Peninsula Catholic High School is seeking teachers in the following areas for the 2008–2009 academic year: Religion, Science, and German. Head of School

Family oriented, 130 year old, coeducational, fully-accredited, Regional Catholic School enrolling 240 students in grades PK–12, located in Lynchburg Virginia, seeks a visionary leader to become its next Head of School starting July 1, 2008.

The ideal candidate will have experience in having a collaborative leadership style, superior communication, developing and managing a budget and interpersonal skills, and be able to articulate the school’s mission and vision for the future to the faculty and staff, school board, parents, alumni and the broader community. The applicant must be a practicing Catholic, hold a master’s degree in Education/Curriculum and Instruction/Administration or related fields, 5 years teaching/administrative experience in a Catholic school, and hold, or are eligible for, principal licensure in Virginia.

Office Manager

Church of the Resurrection, Portsmouth, is seeking a full-time office manager. Responsibilities include record-keeping, scheduling parish facilities, maintaining the parish calendar, supervising office volunteers, scheduling building maintenance calls, secretarial duties and overseeing the daily operation of the parish office. Experience in the parish office environment, strong computer skills, knowledge of the Church liturgical year, experience with PDS (Parish Data Systems) software, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment are required. Minister of Christian Formation for Appalachian area

Regional Minister of Christian Formation for Small Parishes. The Catholic Diocese of Richmond seeks a Minister of Christian Formation for the Appalachian area of the diocese. The selected individual will support the local volunteer catechetical leaders in the 18 small parishes of Region 10 through consultation, resourcing, and implementation of the diocesan catechetical norms, and PATHWAYS, the diocesan catechist certification process. The regional minister will also promote Adult Faith Formation in the region and oversee the Region 10 Resource Library. The selected individual will have a master’s degree in Religious Education, Theology, or Pastoral Ministry, and have at least three years’ experience as a catechetical leader, preferably with small and/or rural parishes.
