Black Catholic youths and young adults sought for new group

The diocese’s Black Catholic Commission is launching a new Black Catholic Youth and Young Adult Commission.

The new commission, which will consist of youths between 13 and 18, and young adults who are 19 to 35, is currently searching for committed people, who are ready to encourage other members of their parishes, to put solutions to those concerns already in place.

The commission also seeks to unite African American youth and young adults from across the diocese to empower them and provide leadership.

A meeting will be held on Saturday, April 19, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 7800 Carousel Lane in Richmond.

Lunch will be provided.

“The Office for Black Catholics invites anyone who is interested to come out and be a vital part of our actions,” said Aisha Jones-Hunter of the diocesan office.

For more information or to RSVP, please contact Aisha Jones-Hunter, in the Office for Black Catholics, at 804–622–5104 or ajoneshunter@richmonddiocese.org.
