Minister of Christian Formation for Appalachian areaRegional Minister of Christian Formation for Small Parishes. The Catholic Diocese of Richmond seeks a Minister of Christian Formation for the Appalachian area of the diocese. The selected individual will support the local volunteer catechetical leaders in the 18 small parishes of Region 10 through consultation, resourcing, and implementation of the diocesan catechetical norms, and PATHWAYS, the diocesan catechist certification process. The regional minister will also promote Adult Faith Formation in the region and oversee the Region 10 Resource Library. The selected individual will have a master’s degree in Religious Education, Theology, or Pastoral Ministry, and have at least three years experience as a catechetical leader, preferably with small and/or rural parishes. Director of Youth MinistryThe office of Christian Formation within the Catholic Diocese of Richmond seeks a full-time Director of Youth Ministry. The director brings the community together around a common vision and facilitates training and leadership formation for regional and parish ministry leaders. The director focuses on training for youth ministry, support for adolescent catechesis, providing for diocesan youth gatherings (retreats/convention), and identifying and distributing timely and strategic resources needed by youth ministry leaders. Qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Theology or related field and five or more years experience in parish/diocesan youth ministry (preferably some experience at the diocesan level). Coordinator of Youth MinistryOur parish is seeking an experienced, outgoing, and energetic leader to guide our youth ministry programs for grades 6–12. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry works closely with the Director of Christian Formation in our Whole Community Christian Formation Program in the planning, recruiting of volunteers, training catechists, and teaching formation when necessary. This position requires a flexible person with a positive attitude. The duties also include leading the Confirmation Preparation Sessions for candidates and sponsors. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry for St. Stephen, Martyr coordinates and leads a team of adults and youth leaders in preparing for their annual Confirmation Retreat.
