Catholic Advocacy Day set for April 9 in Washington
The 11th annual Catholic Advocacy Day in the nation’s capitol will be held on Wednesday, April 9, at St. Peter’s Church on Capitol Hill at 313 2nd St., SE.
The day will include briefing on issues by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Participants are encouraged to see their senators and representatives to Congress. The diocesan Office of Justice and Peace will make these appointments.
Those who wish to attend should register by April 2 and send $10 (for lunch and materials) with check payable to “Catholic Diocese of Richmond” to: Office of Justice and Peace, 7800 Carousel Lane, Richmond, VA 23294–4201. Those who do so should indicate their name, address and telephone number, parish and the name of their U.S. representative.
A bus will depart at 6:30 a.m. from Church of the Redeemer in Mechanicsville and arrive at St. Peter’s Church at 9 a.m. for the program which will begin at 9:30.
Travelers will depart Washington at 2:30 p.m. for arrival back at Redeemer at approximately 5 p.m. An additional $25 check is needed to reserve a space on the bus.
