Clergy appointments
Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo has announced the following clergy appointments, effective immediately:
-
Rev. Shay Auerbach, S.J., has been appointed pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, Richmond. He previously was administrator.

Rev. Matthew Un Kwang Juong has been appointed pastor of St. Kim Taegon (Korean) parish in Richmond.

Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School takes the top slot
Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School in Virginia Beach took the top slot in the recent 2008 Blue Crab Bowl Virginia regional competition of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl at the Old Dominion University campus in Norfolk. There was a field of 16 teams, representing 14 Virginia high schools. The competing students spent the day in head-to-head contests, testing their knowledge of marine sciences and the ocean. Coached by science teacher William Dunn, far right, team members include, from left, Roger Chesley (junior); Christine Chesley (sophomore); Mike Stolz (junior); Alex Ratté (senior); and Team Captain William Hoey (senior).

Key Club Valentines
The Key Club of Walsingham Academy, Williamsburg, sent Valentines to the 447th Expeditionary Medical Squadron, Sather Air Base, in Baghdad, Iraq. The squadron, pictured here, appreciated receiving the Valentine’s cards and goodies from “home.”

Daily Bread walk-a-thon
Juniors from Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Lynchburg delivered to the Daily Bread over $2,000 of food and cash donations collected as a result of a school-wide walk-a-thon. The walk-a-thon was conducted by the religion classes and school prayer partner program.
