‘Fritz’ Campbell of Richmond, Religious Goods Shop owner, dies

Taylor “Fritz” Campbell, who opened the Religious Goods Shop in Richmond in 1946, died Dec. 14 in Richmond. He was 87 and had worked until just recently.

Mr. Campbell and his late wife, Mildred, were known by diocesan priests and laity from throughout the diocese. At diocesan gatherings they frequently had exhibits of books and other merchandise carried by their shop.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his son, Bill Campbell and his wife, Georgia; daughter, Suzanne Andrews; grandchildren, Taylor Andrews and his wife, Annie, Jordan Andrews and his wife, Courtney, Kacy Andrews and Jessie Campbell, and two great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 17 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, with interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Clergy appointments

Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo has announced the following clergy appointments of permanent deacons, effective immediately:

  • Rev. Mr. Belardino Lupini, to Church of the Epiphany, Richmond.

  • Rev. Mr. Rick Miech, to Church of the Epiphany, Richmond, and director of the diocesan Office of Pastoral Ministry Leadership Formation.

  • Rev. Mr. James Rodgers, to Sacred Heart, Prince George County.
