K of C program to support troops
The Knights of Columbus, Father Robert W. McDonald Council #395, Richmond, will hold an Operation Christmas Care Packages to Benefit Our Troops in Harm’s Way, on Saturday Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Columbian Center, 2324 Pump Road in Richmond’s far west end.
This effort will be done in cooperation with Blue Star Families of Richmond. Blue Star members are local mothers, fathers, wives, family, and friends with loved ones currently serving or who have served in the Armed Forces.
“They encourage and support each other and the efforts and sacrifices of active military, including veterans,” said Ed Polich of the council. “They proudly display the Blue Star Flag, which dates back to World War II, in their windows during times of conflict or war.”
The following organizations have made donations to Operation Christmas Care Packages:
-
VFW Post 6364 is paying for postage on the boxes;
