Catholic Charities dinner to give Community Service Awards
Commonwealth Catholic Charities will present two awards for outstanding community service at the organization’s Community Service Awards Dinner on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Richmond Sheraton West Hotel in Richmond.
Genworth Financial will be recognized for the company’s generous support of local charities and for the superior volunteer commitment of Genworth employees. Stewart F. Reid, a member of St. Ann parish, Ashland, will be honored for his extraordinary volunteer actions on behalf of disadvantaged children, the elderly and the disabled.
Bestselling author Adriana Trigiani, originally from Big Stone Gap in southwest Virginia, will be guest speaker for the Community Service Awards Dinner, an annual fundraiser for Commonwealth Catholic Charities. She will be signing copies of her new book “Home to Big Stone Gap.”
The cost to attend is $70 for a reception beginning at 6 p.m., seated dinner at 7 and the awards presentation. The event is sponsored by Bon Secours Richmond Health Systems.
