Brother John Mary Lugemwa, a member of Mary Mother of the Church Benedictine Abbey in Richmond, makes a profession of solemn vows as a member of the Benedictine community at the abbey July 11, the Feast of St. Benedict, before Abbot Patrick Moore. A native of Uganda, Brother John Mary first joined the community five and a half years ago. He recently completed studies at St. John

University in Collegeville, Minn., graduating with a degree in computer science and philosophy. He will be working in the finance office of Benedictine High School, whose office is located at the abbey, and in the computer labs at the school. At the same Eucharistic Liturgy Brother Vincent Jude McDermott of Point Pleasant, N.J., made a profession of first vows.
