Father Mark Lane, Vicar for Clergy, will present the seminar Mary Magdalene in Art — Truth and Myth on Thursday, July 12, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 909 Rennie Avenue, Richmond, at 7 p.m. The cost is $15.

Marketplace prophets

Shalom House Retreat Center in Montpelier will continue its faith and social justice video series with “Marketplace Prophets,” on Tuesday, July 17, at 1 p.m. The film will be followed by discussion and refreshments. Guitar concert

Guitarist Vernon Fischer will perform a free concert in the tranquil beauty of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Church courtyard in Charlottesville on Friday, July 20, at 6 p.m. Vernon has performed extensively at resorts, hotels, restaurants, and homes over the past 30 years, entertaining dignitaries. His style is reminiscent of Charlie Byrd, Chet Atkins and Earl Klugh. Saint Thomas Aquinas is located at 401 Alderman Road. Catholic Golden Age

Catholic Golden Age, Our Lady of Peace Chapter in Richmond, is sponsoring an annual pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. on the Feast of the Assumption, Wednesday, Aug. 15.
